Why OUP?
My position at OUP allows me to enjoy what I loved most about working in academia: aiding breakthrough scientific innovations, but from a more global perspective. We work with remarkable academic institutions, and in my role I have the ability to learn and disseminate the best practices they are utilizing to advance university developed technologies.Jaimie joined OUP in 2019, where her role is to examine best practices in licensing and entrepreneurial development across our university partners to develop content for dissemination. Jaimie is an alumnus of Rutgers University where she obtained her Masters of Biomedical Science in 2013. Before earning her graduate degree, Jaimie worked as a research scientist investigating stem cell applications in stroke and traumatic brain injury models. She left laboratory work in 2014 to pursue work in research development at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine where she grew the School’s predoctoral student research program by 150% over a 2 year period — sourcing funds from industry and philanthropic programs. These funds started a new research honors course and an annual student research journal.
As Senior Manager at the Center for Corporate Engagement, Mrs. Testai facilitated industry engagements across Rutgers’ Newark, New Brunswick and Camden locations, serving as the primary point of contact among companies in the biopharmaceutical and medical device industry sectors and Rutgers researchers focused on life sciences and biomedical engineering innovation. In this role, Jaimie cultivated industry sponsored research programs on behalf of Rutgers Biomedical and Health Science (RBHS) faculty and referred companies to activities focused on undergraduate and graduate STEM talent engagement. Jaimie was the Alliance Co-Lead for one of Rutgers’ most active strategic partnerships.
