Marc Singer

Managing Partner,

Why OUP?

In the world of university start-ups, every day presents exciting, yet humbling, learning experiences as we attempt to grasp the commercial potential of radical new technologies. Along the way we are fortunate to work with technologists at the top of their fields accomplishing the impossible, and it is rewarding to help them solve the puzzle of turning great technologies into market-driven products.

Marc helped develop and launch OUP with Bob Adelson and Lou Berneman in 2009. Along with the other Managing Partners, Marc is responsible for overseeing and approving all Partnership investments and all other Partnership and organizational activities. Marc focuses on technology investments, and along with Bill, is responsible for day to day execution of the Partnership. Marc has spent over 25 years in venture capital. In 1993, he joined Consumer Venture Partners, an early stage venture capital firm that invested in young consumer businesses. In 1997, Marc co-founded BEV Capital with two colleagues from Consumer Venture Partners and served as a General Partner. From 1997 to 2007, BEV raised and invested over $200 million in over 40 companies. Marc focused on building a technology portfolio for BEV, investing in Internet, software, and marketing technologies.
